Terms and Conditions

Booking Deposit: To confirm your booking please complete and submit our online booking form. We will require a non-refundable deposit of 25% of the total accommodation cost.

Payment methods: Please indicate your preferred method of payment on the booking form. We accept French cheques, bank transfers and credit/debit cards. For transfer payments, we can email you our bank details. If you would prefer to pay by card, an online secure payments option is available via our bank BNP Paribas, for which we will email you instructions.

Prices: Prices payable are as indicated on this web site at the time of the initial booking / submission of the booking form.

Payment of balance: The balance of the payment, tourist tax and 150€ security deposit per gite, is due at least 30 days prior to the booking start date. Payment in full is required for bookings made less than 30 days before their start date. If the payment of balance is not received by the due date, we reserve the right to cancel the booking.

Tax: A Tourist Tax on behalf of Grand Cognac Communauté de communes is added to the rental price at 1€; per night, per adult. This tax is payable with the balance.

Cancellation: If you should need to cancel your holiday 45 - 30 days prior to the arrival date, 50% of the rental cost will be charged. If cancellation takes place between 30 and 15 days prior to arrival, 75% will be charged. Cancellations within 15 days of arrival will be charged at the full rental cost. All cancellations must be confirmed in writing. We reserve the right to cancel a booking and will refund twice the amount paid as a booking deposit.

Covid - Should there be new restrictions imposed by our government such as lockdowns and border closures we will firstly propose postponements and secondly, cancellations if the first option is not viable. In cases other than those mentioned above, e.g. positive Covid tests, quarantine requirements, illness, existing stays... our standard cancellation conditions apply.

Insurance: You are strongly advised to take out adequate insurance for your holiday including Covid related issues. We cannot accept responsibility for losses or damage caused by events beyond our control such as strikes, industrial disputes, airport or port closures, fire, flood and other natural disasters.

Hirer's responsibilities and security deposit: Although final cleaning of your gite is included in the price of your holiday, the hirer is responsible for leaving the property in a tidy condition and failure to do so may incur extra charges. We reserve the right to make a retention from the 150€ security deposit or to invoice all additional charges to cover breakages, losses or damage to the property or its contents. We undertake to return the security deposit, minus any retention, within two weeks of your departure.

Booking Period: The property will be available from 3 pm on the date of arrival and must be vacated by 10 am on the day of departure. Bookings are from Saturday to Saturday unless alternative arrangements have been agreed.

Conditions of use: Use of the accommodation, equipment, swimming pool and any other amenities on site is entirely at the hirer's risk and no responsibility can be accepted for any loss, injury, death or damage to the user's or any other visitors person or belongings, including cars.

Swimming pool: Generally the swimming pool is heated and available for use from May to September. However, these dates may vary, depending on the weather conditions at the time. We reserve the right to temporarily suspend usage of the pool for essential or emergency maintenance. Children using the pool are the responsibility of their parents.

Sorry: No Pets and No Smoking.

Partying is strictly prohibited. French law requires that there is no noise between 10pm and 7am.
